The design and manufacture of TCG Taichuang YBX3 flameproof motors fully comply with GB/T 3836.1-2021 Explosive atmospheres — Part 1: Equipment — General requirements and GB/T 3836.2-2021 Explosive atmospheres — Part 2: Equipment protected by flameproof enclosure "d". The explosion-proof marking is Ex db IIB T4 Gb. The motors apply to hazardous factory locations where explosive mixtures form between air and Class II Category B flammable gases/vapors of temperature classes T1~T4. They can be matched with general mechanical equipment including fans, pumps, conveyors and agitators.
Flameproof performance serves as the core safety barrier of this motor series. Flameproof equipment relies on its flameproof enclosure to achieve pressure resistance, explosion containment, flame quenching and explosion isolation. If an internal motor fault triggers an explosion, a qualified flameproof housing withstands blast pressure without rupture or deformation impairing flameproof performance. Meanwhile, precisely machined flameproof joints cool explosion flames and stop internal ignition sources from detonating combustible media outside the enclosure.
In line with standard specifications, Taichuang places tight control over flameproof structural components including the frame, end covers, inner bearing caps, terminal box bases and terminal box covers. All machined parts undergo a 1.5 MPa hydrostatic pressure test post finishing. Throughout production, rigorous control is enforced on flameproof joint length, clearance and surface roughness. Electrical clearances and creepage distances between exposed live conductors, as well as between conductors and the enclosure inside terminal chambers, are fully regulated. All enclosure fasteners are fitted with spring lock washers to prevent loosening caused by long-term operational vibration. Frame, end covers, inner bearing caps, terminal box assemblies, rotating shafts and sealing rings are designated critical flameproof components. Under rated operating conditions, maximum external surface temperature is strictly capped at 130°C to meet the T4 temperature class limit and eliminate ignition risk of surrounding explosive materials. Inlet port temperature is also closely controlled to guarantee long-term safe operation of connected cables.
Beyond rigorous flameproof structural design, this mature series features well-defined applicable working conditions to satisfy hazardous-area requirements of most domestic factories. Standard applicable altitude: ≤1,000 m; ambient temperature range: -15°C to 40°C. The motors tolerate humid environments, suitable for operating under maximum average relative humidity of 90% in the wettest month with average minimum monthly temperature ≤25°C. Electrical specifications cover mainstream industrial demands: rated voltages AC 380 V, 660 V, 380/660 V; rated frequency 50 Hz. The motors adopt S1 continuous duty and support full-voltage starting. Equipped with Class F insulation system, stator winding temperature rise is evaluated at 80K, delivering outstanding heat resistance and stable long-duration continuous operation.
The series is engineered for convenient on-site maintenance and operation. Terminal boxes are mounted on top with four optional cable entry directions to accommodate rubber-sheathed cable wiring. Terminal boxes support either 3-terminal or 6-terminal configurations with dedicated built-in earthing terminals; cable glands are sized according to motor frame specifications. Bearing maintenance is optimized by frame size: frames 180~225 reserve mounting space for online greasing/draining fittings; frames 250 and above come standard with online greasing and draining structures, enabling lubricant replenishment without shutdown and cutting production downtime & maintenance costs. Wiring connections are standardized: motors rated ≤3 kW adopt star connection for 380 V operation; motors over 3 kW rated 380/660 V use delta connection at 380 V and star connection at 660 V for easy on-site power distribution matching.
TCG Taichuang emphasizes that explosion-proof electrical safety covers the full lifecycle of selection, installation, operation and maintenance. On-site installation of YBX3 motors must strictly abide by GB/T 3836.15-2017 Explosive atmospheres — Part 15: Electrical installations design, selection and erection. Complete inspection is mandatory before power-on commissioning: verify the explosion-proof marking and explosion-proof certificate number match the hazardous area classification; confirm all flameproof enclosure components are tightly fastened; inspect all flameproof parts for cracks, dents or other damage; ensure adequate bearing grease and unobstructed grease inlet/outlet channels; stator winding insulation resistance to earth must be no lower than 5 MΩ. Commissioning is permitted only when all inspection items pass. For cable entry, cable outer diameter must match sealing ring bore with diameter deviation ≤1 mm. XH-21 rubber sealing rings shall be fully compressed with zero clearance between the ring and terminal box base, avoiding sealing failure and compromised flameproof integrity.
Taichuang also issues mandatory safety operation prohibitions for all end users as safety reminders: installers and maintenance staff must thoroughly study full technical documentation prior to use; motor frame and internal terminal box earthing terminals require reliable bonding, with proper connection of cable PE conductors against electric shock; only genuine certified replacement parts may be used; disassembly by untrained personnel is prohibited; prolonged motor overload operation is forbidden; opening terminal boxes or enclosure end covers with power live is not allowed; grinding, repairing or reworking flameproof joints without authorization is banned. Any damage to flameproof structures invalidates explosion-proof capability, and such motors must not run in explosive hazardous areas.
